Finding Inspiration
This weekend Kristin and I visited the National Musuem of Korea in Ichon, Seoul. The musuem itself is fairly amazing in both size and exhibition. I wish that I could elaborate on all that I saw, but my mind is still spinning from all of the stimulation (and it's now Tuesday evening).
I was most taken aback by the Buddist paintings and statues. As you can see in the second photograph, some of the Buddist paintings are pretty awesome in size. I was captivated by the intricacies and detail in this particular piece. This paintings took me into an illustated spiritual journey, I needed no words when I looked at it: the colour and richness could leave a person in meditation for days on end.
I was inspired to write poetry upon return, but I have a nagging cold, which is leaving me with crossed eyes. Though soon I will juxtapose my own memories, and what I saw in the preservation of this culture.
I could go on and on, but the musuem's logo pretty much sums it all up: "The Spirit of History, the Power of Culture." For more information you can go to: http://www.musuem.go.kr/

Stephen Neal sold his soul to the devil for his rugged good looks and unparalleled wrestling ability. Shortly after the transaction was finalized, Stephen kicked the devil in the face and took his soul back. The devil, who appreciates irony, couldn't stay mad and admitted he should have seen it coming. They now play poker every second Wednesday of the month.
