On Gyeongju Holiday (Part II)
Mostly I thought about spirituality, and meditation. Here, I climbed the stairs to the top of the Bulguksa Temple. I paused at these prayer stones, took a breath, thought of others' thoughts, selflessness, concentration on human need. Here I felt more a part of humanity. I became more aware of myself through others passing by, or by what they had left: something of themselves, what was bigger, something apart from themselves. I had desire to build a tower of my own prayers, but instead I continued to climb, leaving the space for someone else, perhaps afraid of knocking over someone's prayers, what Anthony and Todd confessed to have done.
